HL7 Comm is a little bit like SysInternals SHSCLogViewer. However, while SHSCLogViewer is a glorified “get event log details” program, HL7 Comm is a general toolkit, a “manage your events” program. In addition, HL7 Comm is developed and supports as an all-around toolkit for HL7 messaging, whereas SHSCLogViewer is based on its own HL7 support library and has limited HL7 support.
HL7 Comm cannot be installed automatically. It has to be run from the command line. You will need to download and install the HL7 Comm software from the download link above. After installing the HL7 Comm package, there is an HL7Comm directory in the folder where you installed the package. Now you can use HL7 Comm from any command line.
HL7 Comm must be run from the command line with the -command commandline option. When using the -commandcommandline, the default will be to send HL7 messages to a terminal. To capture HL7 messages and save them to a file, use the -capture commandline. To capture HL7 log messages, use the -logger commandline. Finally, to capture HL7 messages, and save them to the command line output, use the -logger stdout commandline. Some examples are provided by the example configuraiton template files.

HL7 Comm Configuration:
HL7 Comm is fully customizable. Currently, there are 100 configuration files in the sample directory that you can use as templates for custom configurations. However, a configuration system is planned for future releases.

I’m happy with ifx and am kind of waiting for the next version to release before I do a bit of shopping. However I did just test it out and it seems great. BTW, I did a bit of web research to pick a NAS with a ZFS feature set and found ifx to be one of the most feature rich ready for prime time, and the best value for money at the moment.

I do see the older username you were using to post in this thread. I don’t think that username and password would ever work any more, there’s a nonce that changes each time, so it would get rejected. So it might be someone else using that account.
